Dishreen’s Daunting Discussion: Workshop inspired by the difficulty Dishreen Riddle-Simmons experienced informing her two children that she was dying of colon cancer. This workshop will focus on the complexity and pain of hard discussions related to cancer with family, children, and grief. Project 1223 will host a workshop with a panel of therapists geared towards helping cancer patients and their families navigate difficult conversations.
Virtual Support Groups: Regularly scheduled online meetings for individuals affected by colon cancer to share experiences, advice, and support.
Virtual Walk/Run for Awareness: Participants can sign up and complete a walk or run in their local area, sharing their progress online using a specific hashtag. This can be done over a specific day or week, allowing flexibility for participants.
Cooking for Wellness: Host virtual cooking classes that focus on creating healthy recipes that promote colon health, led by nutritionists or chefs specializing in dietary wellness.
Interactive Q&A Sessions: Live-streamed Q&A workshop with a panel comprised of an oncologist, gastroenterologist, and other health professionals where the audience can ask questions about colon cancer.
